Restoration comes from another word, Rest. Until you are restored you will always feel like you’re struggling, you’re running, you’re laboring, and you’re missing something. Restoration speaks of becoming complete, sound, and whole. The people of Israel used a word in the Hebrew, Shalom to describe this soundness, nothing missing, nothing lacking, nothing broken or in other words Peace. Restoration leads to rest and peace.
For me I did not experience true restoration until I gave my life to Christ fully and surrendered to His purpose for my life. I always felt a striving and an emptiness in my life and I struggled with being good enough, but when I made Jesus my Lord I entered into a rest too wonderful for words to describe.
- The Bible says In Hebrews Chapter 4:9-10 NLT “So there is a special rest still waiting for the people of God. For all who have entered into God’s rest have rested from their labors, just as God did after creating the world.
- Jesus said “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you. Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls.” (Matthew 11:28-29NLT)
The key is surrender. God is actively trying to restore us back to right relationship with Him and give us back everything that was lost and stolen from us through the years. Not just material things but inward things like Joy, Peace, Hope, and Love to name a few. However He requires our surrender to humble ourselves to know that we need help. We have to let go of the steering wheels of our lives and move over to the passenger seat and let Him drive. Only then will your life be complete again.
- Restoration has a name and it’s Jesus Christ and no one can restore like He can!
